ITI full form stands for Industrial Training Institute. The Industrial Training Institute (ITI) is post-secondary school in India, set up under the Directorate General of Training (DGT), Ministry of Scale Development and Entrepreneurship, Central Government, So that training can be given in various trades.
These institutes are specifically set up to provide technical information to students who have just passed the tenth grade and want to get it. It provides training in various trades such as electrical, mechanical, refrigeration, computer hardware, and carpentry, air conditioning, welding, fitter, plumbing, and many more. It provide some technical knowledge instead of higher education.
The ITI was set up to provide technical manpower to the rapidly growing industrial sector. The courses offered at ITI are designed to specialize in a business. After successfully completing the course, students receive one or two years of practical training in trade in their industry.
The National Vocational Training (NVCT) Certificate requires practical training in the industry. ITIs are government-run training institutes operating in major cities of every state of India like Punjab, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Assam, etc.
