IMA full form stands for Indian Medical Association. The Indian Medical Association (IMA) is a national voluntary body for the modern scientific system of medicine for doctors in India, which looks after the interests of doctors or the welfare of society at large.
It is a society registered under the Society of India.
It was established in 1928 as the All India Medical Association, renamed the “Indian Medical Association” in 1930. It is headquartered in Calcutta. Indian Medical Association is a founding member of the World Medical Association.
The general control of the association’s policy is in the administration and the Central Council is the ‘Central Council’, in which the local branches send delegates and meet once a year to implement the policies.
It delegates its powers to a working committee to implement programs and activities. The committee meets at least three times a year to carry out various activities for the welfare of the members and the people in matters of health.
Indian Military Academy
IMA full form stands for Indian Military Academy. The Indian Military Academy (IMA) trains officers for the Indian Army.
Upon completion of the course in IMA cadets, they are given a permanent commission in the Army as Lieutenant.
Located in Dehradun, Uttarakhand, it was established in 1932 on the recommendation of a military committee headed by Field Marshal Philip Chatwood.
With a class of 40 male cadets in 1932, the IMA’s approved capacity is 1,650. Depending on the quality of admission, cadets take a training course of 3 to 16 months. Lady Cadets have not been inducted into the Indian Army through the IMA, although this is being discussed.
There are different ways to enter the IMA, including graduating from the National Defense Academy, graduating from the Army Cadet College through the Joint Defense Services exam after the SSB exam. IMA cadets are organized as a regiment of four companies with four training battalions. In 2013, there were 16 companies. This battalion is named after the fighters of the Indian Army (except for the Siachen Battalion), while the companies are named after the battles in which the Army took part.
