CGL full form stands for Combined Graduate Level. The Joint Graduate Level Examination is an examination for the recruitment of employees to various positions in the Ministries, Departments, and Organizations of the Government of India.

This has been arranged by the Staff Selection Commission for the selection of employees for various Group B and Group C posts. The Staff Selection Commission was established in 1975.

Brief Explanation

The exam has several degrees which are different days with the results published after each day. Previous examinations also included interview status, but following a government order, interviews for all non-gazetted posts in the central government have been canceled from January 1, 2016. A computer skills test or aptitude test was also included as a grade.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Candidates applying for various positions must obtain a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university at the time of application.
  • Age requirements are between 20 and 30 years. The age range may vary by status. For example, the post of Central Bureau of Narcotics inspectors, ranging in age from 18 to 27, was increased to 30 in September 2018.
  • All women candidates and male candidates belonging to unknown persons, castes, tribes, physically handicapped, and ex-servicemen are exempted from payment of application fees.
