IP: Internet Protocol
IP Full Form
IP full form stands for Internet Protocol. An Internet Protocol is a numerical label assigned to each device connected to a computer network that uses the Internet protocol for communication.
An IP address performs two main functions: network interface or the identity and location address of the host.
The IP address space is globally managed by the Internet Assigned Numbers Authority (IANA), and five local regional Internet registries (RIRs), which are assigned to Internet service providers (ISPs), and so on to local Internet registries.
RIRs were distributed through INA in blocks of approximately 16 16.8 million addresses each, but they have disappeared at the INA level since 2011. There is still only one RIR in Africa with local assignments. Some IPv4 addresses are reserved for private networks and are not globally unique.
IP full form (Internet Protocol) addresses are written and displayed in human-readable indicators, such as 172.16.254.1 in IPv4, and 2001: db8: 0: 1234: 0: 567: 8: 1 in IPv6. The size of the address routing prefix is designated using the address with the number of key bits in the CIDR indicator, eg, 192.168.1.15/24, which is the historically used subnet mask 255.255.255.2.0.
An IP address has two main functions. It identifies the host, or more specifically its network interface, and provides the location of the host in the network, and thus the ability to establish a path to that host.
Their character is depicted as follows: “A name indicates what we are looking for. An address indicates where it is. A path indicates where to get there. Get” The header of each IP packet contains the IP address of the sending host and the destination host.
