CPI full form stands for Communist Party of India. The Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPI (M)) is a Communist political party of India.

As of 2020, the CPI (M) is heading the state government in Kerala and is represented in the following legislatures in the states of West Bengal, Tripura, Rajasthan, Bihar, Himachal Pradesh, Odisha, and Maharashtra.

Brief Explanation

The Communist Party of India (Marxist) established from a division within the Communist Party of India (CPI) and formed on 26 December 1925. The CPI saw some ups and downs in the years following World War II.

In 1950, BTI Ranadio, the General Secretary of the CTI and a prominent representative of the radical area within the party were thrown out on the basis of his leftist actions.

The Politburo is a senior member of the Communist Party of India (Marxist). However, between the party’s two congresses, the Central Committee is the highest decision-making body.
