The COO full form stands for Chief Operating Officer. A Chief Operating Officer (COO), is one of the most senior positions in an organization, part of the “Sea Suite”.
The COO is responsible for the day-to-day running of the company and the construction of its office and regularly reports to the highest official usually the Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
Most modern companies operate without a COO. For example, in 2007, about 58% of Fortune 500 companies did not have a COO. In these cases, the CEOs either take on more roles and responsibilities, or the roles traditionally assigned to the COO are performed by all CV officers.
