BCCI full form stands for Board of Control for Cricket in India. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is the governing body for cricket in India and is under the jurisdiction of the Government of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India.
It is a federation of state cricket associations and the state associations elect their representatives who elect the head of the BCCI.
The Board was constituted in December 1928 as a society, registered under the Tamil Nadu Society Registration Act. Grant Gwen was its first president and Anthony de Mello its first secretary. The BCCI is not dependent on the Government of India for its financial affairs.
BCCI is considered to be the biggest economic player of cricket. The ICC is mainly governed by a board of directors which is nominated by each member of the board. For media rights, each member board of the media requires bilateral matches with the BCCI.
In 2020, India accounted for 26 per cent of ICCFTP revenues given to 10 Test playing countries, with 40 of 405 million out of the US $ 1.534 million, while the ECB was at number two. As the number one country, it received 139 million.
