BC full form stands for Before Christ. The term Before Christ (BC) is used to label or number years in the Julian and Gregorian calendars.
To this day, it is firmly observed through virtually all Jewish religious sources, some minor non-Jewish orthodox societies, and is a reference in many aged and restituted manuscripts.
There is no year zero in this scheme, so the year AD 1 immediately follows the year 1 BC. This dating system was devised in 525 by Dionysius Exiguus of Scythia Minor, but was not widely used until the 9th century.

For example, the ancient city was founded in 200–300 BC but was destroyed in 80 CE by volcanic eruptions, floods, and earthquakes.
